Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde?
Does anyone here think that Mr. Utterson is changed by My. Hyde? If so how?
Im writig a paper for my physc lit class and Ive come up with this thesis about how Utterson is changed by Mr. Hyde and wants to comit evil himself….. and I think its a good essay and potentially very strong… but I need more back up knowledge….. can anyone here help me on this?
Idk….. maybe its just my way of thinking thats off…. but it seemd to me that at firs he was disgusted by Hyde… but as the book goes on it seems that he yearns for the freedm that Hyde has… like no boundries with the law and in that sense according to society it is evil… also doesnt this book play off of the whole ID SUPER EGO and EGO idea that Freud has written down as in what u really want to do in life is different from what society wan s you to do in life… but u can nver change your true nature an it will eventually come ou jus as Hyde came out with in Jekyll….. idk…
can you clarify on this as i dont understand. i am currently doing this book at school. i dont remember anything about utterson being evil?
