jutting in and out of perspectives
challenging red tail hawks that swooped
from perches high, where mighty limbs had nested
providing vantages for many to peer from
allowing sights beyond the daily mundaneness
a life well spent
affords us until…irony
taps your shoulder
shattering the tallest of all
raining splintered bones on the young
the unknown that don’t
know, what it is

to my back, as the door offers
a closing moment of reflection

piercing ears once tilted up in faith
